A pre-market checklist gathers information to review in one place. It does not predict prices or replace a personal risk plan; record only data you can explain.
Key concepts
- Previous-day and overnight levels
- High, low, or closing prices from the prior trading day and the overnight session.
- POC, VAH, and VAL
- The profile's Point of Control and the upper and lower boundaries of its Value Area.
- Maximum daily loss
- A personal risk boundary defined in advance for the day.
Learn it step by step
- 1Note economic events, the previous day's High and Low, the overnight High and Low, and the previous close.
- 2Check the session and data range used for VWAP, VAH, VAL, POC, Opening Range, and Cumulative Delta.
- 3Write down the maximum risk per trade and maximum daily loss from your own plan.
- 4If no setup fits the plan, pause and continue observing.
A checklist does not make a market judgment. Do not act without a clear plan.
